Amy 03:47
Amy I first saw you, watch as your mum's toe touched mine. And when I kissed your mother, beyond the door outside(you were peeking) When I see my foot was slipping (cause I was leaving), kindness sustained me whole. When cares abound within me, your comfort touched my soul. You sat beside your mother (you were born there) at the movies Christmas Eve (2004) The pens and pretty papers (to take note of) the pathways that you leave (of your grieving) I had no way of knowing of all you'd bring with you. I just know I've tasted the comfort of you two. When cares abound within, cast them on me. When fears crowd out, taste and see. It's good, it's bliss, it's this. Yes you ran your to and fro's (do you remember) Just as I ran mine (I'm still running) My weekend come and go's, it eas the mumless time. Just to find you sleeping outside the door was you. We made a kind of pairing, the sharing into two. It was just a slow intrusion, in your bigger scheme of time. I was giving you the option, in the crosshairs of my mind.

May I never need to change you,the pain the suffering. The difference of skin, the box love came in. If I'm not part of the solution, the conclusion that you get. Cause I'm not part of the problem, and yet On the road to choice I found out, you can't limit what is possibe. My vow remains but understanding has changed, god's will. “Though we talk to separate, spirit moves to act and feel. It’s the question we ask, where are you, here am I. Where we go, we are there still. You and I are a sacred space, a planted garden. Distrust and fear they choke us all at times. Beg your pardon. Hine-ahu-one, female fertility. Born to stand from Tane’s hand, box love came in.” Thought we talk......... It's the answer we fgive when the reach is far, where we go there we are X 3 and we grow where we are

Chipper 05:47
Dark day, branches crashing to the ground. Whey, why cut em back then cut em down. Hmmmm gues I really meant to say. First you run then you walk, you're badder than your bark... chipper on the way. When I wake, I go out on the deck. Take my Good Book, and my spirit you we check. Ohhhh pile of branches rotting down. What was green is turning black, back to dust back to back. Chipper, please come round. Sunshine comes beating on my head. In this downtime, these tunes came to be fed. Ohhh scraps peeling off my mind First you cry and then you moan, an exile from your home. Chipper , please be mine. Been two months, two months to get unbent. Shook to pieces, before we had a chance to rent. Ohhh I 've been checking up on you, ground is ready carpeted. Just for you spit out and chew. Chipper coming through. Downtime, don 't you get down on me. Find your own mind, and let my mind be. And it will be worth your hire. Spend just half a day, hundred bucks will come your way. Chipper, my hearts on fire. So I thank you, a dry spell you wet my head. Tuneless tastless, evils in my bread. Ohh feeeling chipper sound good. Now another's on the page, words like barkmulch rant and rage Chipper....knock on wood.

Hei nga whakaaro, I've come to chew your fat How you sing of a welcome home, You need a door for that. You travel in your worlds and chords, romanctic mystery. But it's more of the same , colonial history And we're done with that x3 E hoa kia tupato, a careful kindness looms. Time spent away from home fires, nostalgia can set in. And travel in your virtual worlds, recorded mystery. But it's more of the same, familiar history. And we're done with that x3 By the seat of our pants, the rapids were shot, Te henui, we got it wrong a lot. You don't get that on-line or living far from here. So here's to, welcome home from there Hei ngau whakapai, home improvement that, Borrows more than language, builds between this and that. Let's travel in the one world, and not remain afar. Mai maunga Taraanaki me Ngati Mutunga Are we down with that x3

I hear you calling flying out on time Excess baggage Feels like being left behind Stepping lightly on your fingers, stepping lightly on the line Who knows who'll return, September Will just play right on time. Yet it's the little things Get packed with meaning here. Did I break the bank of love, Too few deposits there. Let it go , let it out Let it all unravel. Set it free and it may be, A path on which we travel x2 And it's a sober wind blowing down the line And its a sober wind Behind flight 109 Let it go, let it out, let it all unravel. Set it free and it may be, a path for us to travel, a path for us to travel A path to your door.

From overhead moving slowly, Nuhaka nuku whenua And what for I return for only, my words like sand upon your bar. To Hawke's Bay sent away, favoured sons. Home at the Clay they milked alone. Black mark step up-down, you don't own me, Prefecture cane upon the bone. “Touch your toes, clear your eye. Feel the blow passing you by and through. Hold out your hand, now don’t be shy. Feel the reo passing out of you you and you Te kainga pupuri ana. (Hold onto home) Ki tona papa tona tu. (Your dad’s advice) Korerotia te tikanga, (Walk the talk like Morere hot springs) pera Morere e pupu. Korerotia he tikanga, (discuss the values) korerotia tou raru. (Air your problem) Waihotia amuamu. (Let go hurts) Kia purea ai te toka tu. (As stone is cleansed by the winds) Touch your nose, clear your head. Moenga it’s a bed, we make it. Clear your eyes, remake your bed. Sort out the garbage in your head. Not going to take it.”

“Heart’s a tenacious little thing, can bleed your mind real dry. You can think you’re being generous but you know you resent it, that’s not thanks going by. Cause the hearts a little clinger, take you to the wringer, cling away. It’s a puzzle I’ll admit it, it’s a puzzle and I’m in it, so long as I choose to stay. But if your mind’s bleeding dry and your heart gritting by, you’re in it say, perception, obsession, who’s the patient, what’s the lesson anyway” Speech is a controller the riddler says, Goes a million miles an hour on the way. Put your mind into gear, don't leave it idling there, pay and display For who knows what you need , till your mind begins to bleed and run away. Cause the heart's a little bleeder, if you let it it will lead her away. Perception, obsession, who's the patient, what's the lesson nurse away x 3

“I wrote through the snow and never felt you falling, fixed on the task of filling one more draft installment. While to Mt Kaukau, all the others fled, to slide down your sides. I used my pass card to upload my head. My office apartment, illicit I write. Cleaners and watchmen kept me warm till morning light, when that small door ki mua, a past I tramp outside. A path just beyond, chapter land, inside. My gaze is on the tumble of words freed to be, a path to your door running right through you and me. Just like Ruawharo who spoke at Opoutama. (Takitimu tohunga) Now Taraika rises, I turn my waka. Mahia.” (The chant of Ruawharo to carve a passage for the waka)

“I used to take him off to Kohanga every day, dragging my hand all of the way. Trying to make up for the lack of the man, the lack of the man for banning my dad. No school reo, that was sad. Now I find my dad’s my lad. Thirty years have gone, I’ve got my own grandson. But when he goes to school, Maori boogie rules. Cause there’s more to a waltz than a 1-2-3. There’s more to learning language than a haka powhiri. To pick up your reo that’s been pared down to the bone. No health warning, you must try it out at home. Try it out at home, call Aunty on the bone. Try it out at home, korero all alone.” Try it out at home “Korero tupato, zoom zoom zoom. A E I O U’s the tune. Korero te reo, kia ora too. A E I O U will do.” Try it out at home

Let me tell you a story, she put me put out to work we want a home for the chooks, don't want to scrabble in the dirt. I call the engineer, make up a plan for me, Got to make it last, chook house for eternity. I builty it wood by wood, rising by the fence. One door to clean i out, I think that makes good sense. My neighbour gives good advice, don't put the perch so high. Cause they can jum right up, but not to the sky. Sisterinlaw she comes , you need another door, So you can spell the run, don't want a muddy floor. Back to the engineer, best put the door right here got to move nest box ,Don't want them perching there. For the chicken run outside, two runs either side my dear, It's got an iron roof, chook house deriere. What's that you say, we need it two strands tall Back for more chicken wire, Placemakers near the mall. Now over at the fence, Jim he bends my ear, Says that's a mighty fine chicken house but it needs to be moved here. You see he's a sunny man, his wife maria too The chooks they like the heat, just like me and you. I'm in despair, go fire the engineer. We'll knit them woolly socks, put a fire in the hole my dear. Judy she come to save the day Says it's cold in Dunedin too but they lays eggs anyway. Tiem to buy some chooks, three so they're not alone. Now time to settle in , nest in the happy home. I call them Moses, Aaron and flecky Miriam. Cause it's the promised land and just because I can. I greet them coming in , I greet them coming home. They seem to understand, why I seldom phone. Bossman calls me her best mate, food for us all to share two out of three ain't bad, eggs for us all to share eggs but just not here.

Crucible 03:50
“I came in to rest from my journey, to be refreshed then carry on. But I lost my sight in the giving, taking shelter in a storm. I needed to lapse from saving my people, the path that the ancestors trod. From burnout I turned, from my mother I’d learned, how to shelter from storms ‘neath the Cross. It took some convincing, talk straight and no wincing, direct in the eye of the storm. To sow love and not need takes a different breed, we built shelter and hope in that storm. When you come to serve be prepared, for fire and tribulation. For in fire, gold is tested, and worthy aren’t bested, in the crucible of humiliation.” Savior deep within got down off the cross, Took his mobile, cycled out of town. Rented out the family home, remaining son was on his own, to be a tombstone for the loss. Back from PNG in my mission-short pants, Savior weren't needed over there, So I decked and I decked while you waited I checked out my journey, We made quite a pair. When you come....... It took some convincing, talk straight and no wincing, Direct in the eye of the storm, To sow love and not need, takes a different breed We built shelter and hope in that storm. When you come.....
